Costs
The initial consultation is £150. It is generally much better for men considering a vasectomy reversal to have a face to face consultation and examination with Mr Swinn beforehand. This is so that any anatomical problems such as a spermatocoele or fibrosis can be identified preoperatively as these can affect the success rate. Also, issues such as sperm extraction and cryopreservation (freezing) can be discussed.
If sperm retrieval and cryopreservation (freezing) are requested then there is an additional charge of £1200. This price includes MESA (microepididymal sperm aspiration) or TESE (testicular sperm extraction), analysis in theatre by an embryologist and cryopreservation in a centre approved by the HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority). It also includes counselling by the embryologist and preoperative screening tests for hepatitis and HIV as requested by the HFEA. |
